Tuition
I teach lessons at my studio in Oxton, or online. I offer specialist guidance for those studying GCSE or A Level, and have over two decades of experience helping student gain top marks, especially in composition and performing units. I believe that composition and arranging are skills that anyone can learn though, and I also offer tuition in voice, piano and brass instruments, as well as all levels of music theory.

Composing and arranging
I have had the privilege to write music for a wide variety of different groups, having many of my arrangements performed at the Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall, the Glasshouse International Centre for Music and, in June 2006, several of my orchestrations and choral arrangements were performed by Jane MacDonald, Peter Corry and a 1000 voice choir in a concert at Sheffield Arena to mark the 80th birthday of HM the Queen and the 85th birthday of the Royal British Legion.
My original compositions have been performed by groups such as the Chetham’s School of Music Big Band, Wirral Symphonic Wind Band, Isle of Man Wind Orchestra, and the Birkenhead School Chapel Choir.
After studying at Chetham’s, RNCM and the University of Manchester, I decided to embark on a career in music education. Over the last two decades I have taught in three top independent schools in the North West, whilst maintaining a busy composing and conducting schedule. Teaching music to both children and adults has been a fulfilling and enjoyable journey.

“Thanks for all the help on my composition and for always believing in me.”
